Camelot Park is set in a delightful area of inland Brittany. The local village of Loyat is just a few hundred metres from the site entrance and has range of basic services inluidng a bakery, butcher, small supermarket, restaurant and pharmacy. 5 kms is the larger town of Ploermel, which has a wider range of shops and it is here that you will find the nearest bank. The nearest large town is Vannes which is just 58km away. The fascinating city of Rennes is slightly further afield.
Château de Loyat
The magnificent château dates from the 18th Century and is suurounded by 150 hectares of stunning gardens laid out at the same time in a the classic style of the Louis XIV period. The château itself is open to visitors from 1st July - 15th August, but the grounds and gardens are open throughout the year.
Ploërmel
5 kms from Loyat is Ploërmel, a thriving town offering a full range of services. Its principal tourist attraction is the astronomical clock dating from the 19th century which is classified as an national monument. Legend proclaims that the forest of Paimpont which borders the town is the home of Merlin the magician.
Lac au Duc
5kms from Loyat the lake is the largest natural lake in Brittany, providing opportunities for saling and water skiing as well as gentler pursuits such as fishing and sunbathing.
La 'Voie Verte'
La 'Voie Verte' is an old railway line which runs for 53km from Mauron to Questembert. Now dedicated to cyclists and walkers this is the perfect way to experience the local countryside. Access to the route is just 50m from Camelot Park
