We are delighted to be able to offer you the opportunity to buy your very own wooden lodge on this delightful site on the edge of the lovely village of Blangy le Château.

The siteowner is creating 50 new pitches in an apple orchard overlooking the small lake. Your new home will be situated here in this delightfully natural setting. Sitting on your terrace you will be able to enjoy the peace and tranquility offered by this beautiful part of Normandy. The site bar and restaurant are popular with locals and site residents alike and is a convivial focal.

Just 200m from the site entrance is Blangy le Château a typical Normandy village with a full range of local shops including baker, butcher and pharmacy.13kms away is the town of Lisieux , a thriving commercial centre with an impressive cathedral.

The homes available for purchase on Domaine du Lac are tradtionally designed wooden chalets made by the French company Ballario. A small number of pitches are also available for Willerby holiday homes.

Restaurant: The restaurant is open throughout the season from April to October. It serves traditional regional dishes at reasonable prices

Take-away meals: Take away food is available in July and August

Bar: The friendly bar is open throughout the season and is a popular meeting place for site residents and local villagers

Shopping

There is no shop on site as the local village shops ( bakery, tabac, butcher, pharmacy etc) are just 200m walk from the site entrance

Domaine du Lac is well placed for many of the attractions that Normandy has to offer. It's close to the typical village of Blangy le Château in the heart of the countryside yet only 20kms from the stylish resort of Deauville. Paris is just a 90 minute drive away as well.

Attractions

Aquarium Vivarium de Trouville 
600m² of exhibition floor space. Over 70 tanks representing sea life from around the world. Also animals and insects from the rainforests around the world. There is also a gift shop.

Zoo Cerza 
This zoo has the animals in their natural environment. Over 50 hectares of enclosures. Great observation points allow the visitor to observe the lions and other large cats. A mini-train is available to take you on a tour of the zoo. Free parking, restaurants, take-aways and a souvenir shop.

Bayeux Tapestry 
The Bayeux Tapestry tells the story of the Norman Conquest. It is over 900 years old and is 70 metres long with 58 different episodes.

Château de Henry Fontaine 
13th Century Château which has been preserved as a family home. Architectural styles are Gothic, Renaissance and Neoclassical. A magnificent collection of Renaissance paintings, porcelain and furniture are on display.

Musée de Normandie 
This museum opened to the public in 1963 and focuses its collections on the following: the History of Normandy, archeology and ethnography.

Château de Creully 
Château de Creully became a VIP overnight House during WWII after Montgomery captured it. The château can be visited by private arrangements. Close by is Creully castle which is another fascinating place to visit.

Naturospace 
Opened in 1999, Naturoscope is 800m² of tropical paradise. The temperature is controlled at 28 degrees and the visitor can stroll the 200 metres of paths whilst admiring the tropical plants. There are also over 50 species of butterflies in Naturoscope.

Calvados Père Magloire  
Guided visits of the calvados museum with tastings available. Discover all there is to know about apple brandy (calvados) and its associated craft.

Musee du Debarquement 
The museum has a mission to tell younger generations about the events of 6th June 1944. The museum was created in 1953 and is built on the site of the artificial harbour. Guided tours are available in English and German. A visit lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes. Souvenir gift shop at the museum.

Le Mémorial de Caen 
The Caen Memorial was born out of an idea to create a place reflecting on world wars. The museum places the emphasis on emotions of war. There is a park where you can stroll around. Interactive data terminals. Video and book shop. Restaurant, bar and giftshop. Free Parking. Around half a million visitors each year.

Musée de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale 
Small museum dedicated to the second world war. Displays of miliatary weapons and uniforms.

how to get there

Domaine du Lac is well situated close to the autoroute network and the channel ports of Caen and Le Havre. Catch an overnight ferry from Portsmouth and you could be in your holiday home by 8 o' clock in the morning
